THE MAC THAT TRAVELED TO SPACE

It was Apple’s first portable Macintosh. In 1991, it traveled aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis during mission STS-43, where the first email from space was sent.

The slot-loading iMac G3 continued the color revolution started by the original iMac. Its translucent enclosure made the internal components a visible part of the design and challenged what a computer was expected to look like.
