Broken glass can cause injury

Apple advises against using an iPhone with cracked glass. Exposed edges can injure your fingers, and cracks may spread with pressure and temperature changes.

Environmental protection is no longer dependable

Once the display assembly is damaged, you should not rely on its original resistance to splashes, dust, or moisture. An opening can allow contaminants to reach internal parts.

Signs of additional damage

• Lines, black spots, or flickering.
• Areas that no longer respond to touch.
• Ghost touches or unintended actions.
• A lifted display or separated enclosure.

What to do before inspection

Keep the device dry, avoid pressing the screen, and create a backup if it is still safe to use. Do not apply liquid adhesive or attempt to remove the broken glass.
